Prototype data
The current prototype does not require an account. It creates a random installation identifier in your browser so scans can be associated with that installation and shown in History.
Photos and scan processing
Packaging photos are reduced on your device and sent for automated analysis. Third-party AI infrastructure may process those images in order to return the result. The current prototype does not intentionally store raw package photos in the UNVEIL product database.
Scan results
Completed scan results may be stored locally on your device and may also be stored in our backend against a pseudonymous installation identifier. Results can include product identity, ingredients, nutrition, allergens, score information and provenance.
External product data
UNVEIL may query external food databases such as Open Food Facts to help identify products and supplement package evidence.
Clearing local history
You can clear scan history from the History screen. Account controls and broader data-management tools will be added before account-based features are introduced.
